It began with reading aloud to my daughter. With the wish to pass on something often missing today: calm, closeness, values – and a real connection to the world around us.

These stories grow out of a real landscape. From paths that exist. From forests people know. From places that have shaped generations.
The Ore Mountains are not scenery here – they are part of the story. They define the atmosphere, the light, the silence. And that is where the strength of this series lies.

Volume 01 and volume 02 show what truly matters: not fast adventure, but what lies in between. Movement and stillness. Closeness and distance. Fire, forest, and community.
These books do not want to be loud. They want to remain.

Each volume will have its own map: with story places, Carl and Strups’ route, and small discoveries across the Ore Mountains.
Volume 01 is the beginning. Later this area can grow into maps for every volume, dialect notes, background stories, and visitor information.

Carl & Strups was conceived as a series from the very beginning. Each book expands the world – with its own colour, its own atmosphere, its own season.
At the fair, this becomes visible: several volumes side by side. Different – yet connected. A book world that keeps growing.
